Autoimmune Resources

There are over 100 autoimmune (AI) conditions and the incidence is growing every year. More and more of us find ourselves with one or more auto-immune conditions. My advice to anyone who receives an AI diagnosis is to learn as much about the condition, or conditions, as possible. Your best weapon against autoimmune conditions is YOU. Your medical team are certainly extremely important but you are the front-line soldier in this war. Your medical team can’t do your exercise for you, can’t remove stress from your life or make sure you take your medications on time, sleep enough or eat properly. That, my friends, is YOU – the front-line soldier.

The following is a list of resources I found useful in my own journey, together with other resources for other AI conditions.

Update: Since this page was published, I have been rediagnosed. I have psoriatic arthritis, not rheumatoid arthritis as first diagnosed. However many of the links are still useful to many readers and my thyroid condition is an AI condition.

Diabetes Australia – extensive information and links to key diabetes organisations. Help Line 1300 136 588

      1. Thank you. This page was first published some years ago, and although I expected the links to remain valid…… things change! Please let me know if you find any more outdated links! I will get to these tomorrow.
